Ground Floor
Open plan living / dining room / kitchen + utility room
Kitchen / Dining Area:
The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher etc. and there is seating for eight at the dining table.
Living Room:
The living area is furnished with sofas and there is a wood burning stove which can also be used to power the central heating system in colder weather. A wide wooden staircase provides access to the upper floor from this room and there is also access directly to the garden.
Utility Room:
Guests will also have access to to the storage / laundry room on the lower floor where wood for the stove is also kept.
Swimming Pool
Large, Heated Private Pool:
The large (12 metres x 6 metres) heated swimming pool is on a terraced piece of land above the house.
Paved Surround & Sun Loungers:
The pool has a wide, paved surround with plenty of sun loungers There are spectacular views of the valley below and across to the hills of the Tuscany Umbria border. It is accessed by broad steps leading up from the front of the house, it is for the exclusive use of guests.

Linen and towels are provided including pool towels. Rental rates include cleaning, weekly linen change and mains service charges.

Two of the bedrooms have single beds that can be pushed together to make double beds if required. Each bedroom has an A?C unit that can be used to cool or heat the room. In the summer the cool will make its way down to the ground floor if bedroom doors are left open. One twin rooms has direct access onto the balcony / terrace that runs along two sides of the house

Equipped with shower, WC and washbasins, these are shared between the bedrooms
Garden
Balcony Terrace
A large terra-cotta tiled terrace (with outdoor furniture) runs along the entire front of the upper floor and continues around one side of the house, this provides shade to the lower floor.
Outdoor Dining Area:
There is a large outdoor dining table on the gravel at the front of the house, an ideal spot for shady al fresco lunches or evening dining, there is a charcoal barbecue.
Rear Garden Area:
Around the back of the house there is a grassed area part of which is shady for much of the day there is a table tennis table here.

There are many day trips possible from Casa della Maestra to the surrounding historic and cultural centers of Umbria and Tuscany. The nearest small towns are Umbertide and Trestina (20 minutes). Cortona is a forty minute drive and Lake Trasimeno around 30 minutes.
Within an hour you can visit Perugia, Deruta, Assisi, Arezzo, Sansepolcro, Siena, Gubbio, Orvieto, Montepulciano and other hill towns. Florence is around two hours by car or an hour on the fastest train (station 45 minutes away).

We had a lovely week a lovely week at Casa della Maestra, it's a beautiful house in a quiet location with stunning views. We particularly enjoyed the wine tasting tour with Martin that we finally managed to get to, after many years of invitations!
The house was wonderful. All that we wanted. The location was fantastic. We saw and heard wild boar! If ever you decide to sell, let us know!
Casa della Maestra is a lovely house with great views. We enjoyed it very much. Weather was a bit changeable so we didn't swim other than a couple of days but enjoyed the views and getting to know Umbria.
The house and setting were absolutely idyllic, probably the nicest place we've ever stayed in and the kids really appreciated the large pool. All immaculate and very well maintained by the Gardner and pool people.
