Ristorante Simone Corsetti
The restaurant at the I Girasoli di Sant’Andrea winery has been taken over by new management at the start of 2014. It is one of several Restaurants In The Niccone Valley and close to our house, Ca di Bracco. We decided it was time to try it out and were welcomed by the new owner, Simone, whose family already run a restaurant near the town of Magione. Since I first wrote this blog post, Simone has changed the name to Ristorante Simone Corsetti, it is now more popular than ever.
What We Ate
Guests are offered a glass of prosecco on arrival and presented with a selection of bread made on the premises while we studied the menu. From long experience of eating out in Italy we know it is a struggle to eat antipasto (appertisers), primi (generally pasta or risotto), secondi (the meat course) and dessert in one sitting – hence we ordered a couple of mixed antipasti and then either a primi or a secondi. I never eat dessert but everyone else had room for one! We thought Simone was an excellent host and the food of a high standard, it’s definitely worth eating here. Our meal for five people cost €120 and included two bottles of wine from the I Girasoli di Sant’Andrea vineyard.
